Cookie Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons Earl Grey tea leaves finely ground
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Optional Garnish
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting
- 1/2 cup white chocolate melted, for drizzling
In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Stir in vanilla extract and finely ground Earl Grey tea leaves.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until combined. Do not overmix.
Shape the dough into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
Use cookie cutters to shape the dough into desired forms and place on the baking sheet.
Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Optional: Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted white chocolate before serving.
For a stronger Earl Grey flavor, steep the tea in melted butter before mixing.
Cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
For a citrus twist, add a teaspoon of orange zest to the dough.
